A recent consumer privacy survey found that 84% of consumers attest that they want more say and control over their data privacy. The same survey found that more than 50% of consumers have already stopped using the services and products from companies without transparent data protection policies.


Another independent consumer survey shows that companies that enhance their customers’ trust in their data protection policies could see a rise in profits by as much as 30%. This is because their customers feel that their data is safe, increasing their customer retention rate and attracting new ones. So, companies that want to stay competitive will have to focus on enhancing data protection.

Working at home exposes employee data to severe threats of security breaches. A recent study found that 7% of employees have allowed non-authorized persons to access their work computers while working at home within the first year of the pandemic.

The use of consumer communication apps for work has increased. In the same breath, at least 70% of employees engage in risky online behavior while working from home, increasing their companies’ expenses in addressing cybersecurity breaches.
